Hi Blake, Colin here, check this site out and tell me what you think. www.jogadog.com . Can't you just see little Odin building up his muscles on one of these things! Talk to you later.
Hi Blake, Colin here. I'll try to answer your questions in order. What made me choose Gamestaff? Well it didn't happen over night. I started researching the SBT about a year ago. I read the kennel club book "Staffordshire Bull Terrier" by Jane Hogg Frame. A decent starter book. Nothing to indepth. Next was "A New Owner's Guide To Staffordshire Bull Terriers" by Dayna Lemke. A nice little book with lots of nice staffy pictures, but it wasn't until I read "Staffordshire Bull Terriers An Owner's Companion" by V.H. Pounds and Lilian V. Rant that I really started to get an idea of what the breed is all about. The section on "The Breed Standard" and in particular, the deletion of the phrase "rather light in the loins" by The Kennel Club of England was very informative. With this in mind, and after looking at over thirty SBT breeders sites, it was clear to me that Jacob's dogs most closely resembled the original breed standard. Have I been to visit Jacob yet? Not yet, although I have exchanged e-mails and spoken to him on the phone. Do I know from what breeding I will be getting my dogs? Jacob mentioned to me that he would be giving Bell 2009 off, so it will be either Apollo or Jack to Myra. Will talk to you later!
Hi Blake, it's Colin in Victoria B.C., welcome to the staffyclub, it's a great site. You will find lots of info here. I'm hoping to get two pups from Jacob at gamestaff in Aug. or Sept. 2009. Gamestaff staffy's are awsome. I want to take them as far as I can in obedience and agility with possibly some therapy work in the future. Due to the media driven hysteria surrounding bully breed dogs and subsiquent BSL legislation in Ontario and elswhere in North America, I want to be the best ambassador I can be for my chosen breed, so I'm going to learn as much about dog behavior and training over the next year as I can. Talk to you later.
