hi everyone, got some good news I've just found out I'm 3 months pregnant with my first baby me and the hubby are over the moon and can't wait for our new arrival in june. I'm not sure how ty, tia & misty will react they are used to being around kids aged 2+ but haven't really been around newborn babies, has anyone got any tips on how I can get them used to the idea of a newborn being around the house. All three dogs are really good and I know there shouldn't be a problem just wanted to know if anyone had any advice.
when i had baby 2 and 3 we had a staff waiting at home and the first thing i did when i got home was to fuss ella and then let her a smell and a lick of the new family member.just remember dont push them away . PS CONGRATULATIONS X
HI I HAVE ALWAYS LET MY DOGS SNIFF MY PREGNANT TUM CUS THEY KNOW THAT SOMETHING IS DIFFERENT,ALSO WHEN YOUR BABY IS BORN IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DONT PUNISH THEM FOR BEING OVER INTERESTED AND JUST HOLD YOUR DOG AND FUSS THEM CONTINUOUSLY WHILE SHOWING THEM YOUR BABY,STAFFS ARE THE BEST FRIEND ANY CHILD/BABY COULD HAVE,I HAVE HAD 3 CHILDREN WHILST HAVING DOGS ALL THE TIME AND MY DOGS ADORE MY KIDS,IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE DOGS ARE NOT PUSHED TO ONE SIDE AT ALL WHICH I KNOW YOU WOULD NOT DO,AS LONG AS YOU ALLOW THE DOGS TO BE PART OF YOUR BABIES LIFE THE DOGS WILL PROTECT YOUR BABY ALL OF THE CHILDS LIFE.GOOD LUCK AND A BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND BEST WISHES FOR THE FUTURE.XXXLISAXXX
congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!! some fun times ahead await you..lol.we had 4 dogs when we had our first quickly followed by another 3 [4 kids under 4]the dogs did not know what hit them..lol.we decided not to change a thing and let the dogs be part of the hole process.they helped put the room together gave there aproval of baby clothes and even gave some of the toys a test run..lol. We took some advice from a breeder friend of ours[and some will go yuk to this]when we brought our first home she was wearing something that all the dogs had touched and they all got to give lots of wet kisses to the new arrival the dogs were great they would let me know when they woke up so they could get there kisses. After acouple of years i soon worked out it was me against all the kids[2 leg and 4 leg].lol all the best.xxxxx
Aww what fantastic news hun. Many congratulations to you and your hubby. When my grandchildren were babies we introduced them to our dogs in the same manner as Kevin did. As the baby grows remember to teach her/him how to treat the dogs nicely, and never leave them unattended. All the very best to you hun xx
hello what i did with my granddaughter is i let the dogs be involved with her i never let them jump all over her but i let them sniff her and look at her and they just accepted her i never shut them away and now she is three she can do as she pleases with them but NEVER unattended
