Our Christmas Eve Walk To The Park
Posted On 24/12/2008 17:14:36 by Tamara

Today my partner and me took Star to our local park (Moat Park), I don't get to go there often as its a drive - and I live in Tarmac city here which isn't exactly pleasant for Star's walks - boring !

We got to the park, and she was so happy running round off the lead amoungst some mole hills lol. She even saw her first duck and stepped up to the water to say hello to it ! But obviously the duck was not interested lol.

We met a older couple, probably forties with two beautiful westies also off the lead... The owners were lovely, and made a fuss of Star, asking me how old she was etc, and told me she was beautiful - which is always nice, I love people complimenting her and asking about her. Then the lady told me to be careful of the westie in the black collar as he is snappy. I guess I am a bit over protective of Star and started coaxing her away from the dog as he growled at her. As we walked away, I was thinking how funny it was, I have the staff, yet they are warning me about their WESTIE being aggressive lol !! Wish the anti-staff critics couldn't seen that eh !!

Also isn't it funny how people you wouldn't normally talk to or vice versa, always chat to you at the dog park lol. This couple was posh, proper, and an older couple - I would never in my normal life get a chance to speak to these people really, but in the dog park they are so friendly and kind and approached me. Even parting saying nice to meet you. Its nice dogs can bring people together like that.

So we walked around the lake, and saw the waterfall - and I got critisised for taking the muddy - and water flooded route lol !! Which I had not realised at the time, until we got to it, in his Timberlands and my expensive Uggs !! I ended up walking across a small part of a tree to get across the flooded access - with him standing on the other end so it didn't flip over haha.

Then came the GEESE, and i'm not talking one goose, I'm talking a dozen, and ducks and the seagulls trying to fit in - and failing. miserably. One goose was on the pavement, and Star got close and it hissed at her, she ran behind me and Al (my OH) tail between her legs and everything !! Again - where were the anti-staff critics to witness this "dangerous dog" lol.

It was lovely to walk her together, at the park. And it didn't cost a penny ! I wish we did it more...

What a lovely day @ the park
