It is with a heavy heart that I write to let everyone who wished me and the boys well after our separation last year know that we have had to find a new home for Guinness. Unfortunately since we got him back from his time in the kennels, he never really adjusted to being back at home with all of us (3 humans, 3 cats and Frick).

He never really settled and started to get nasty towards the other animals, and it didn't seem to matter what we did, we couldn't seem to get the old Guinness back. When he was in a 1 - 2 - 1 situation, he was a lovely dog, but with any of the other animals around he became unpredictable, and it wasn't fair on him or my 12 year old daughter who was beginning to trust him less and less, that things carried on.

Although it was a sad moment when we said goodbye, at least he now has the chance to become the lovely dog he really is.

Frick still looks for him now and then around the house, but he seems ok with things.

So sorry to hear your news. I truely hope that Guiness can rebuild his faith
ans confidence with his new owners.
Im sure the decision was very difficult to make, but at least you can see him from time to time if hes with a friend.
I wish you well for the future xx

Guinness has gone to a friend of a friend of mine who has had collies in the past and wanted a young one to replace the loss of her previous dog who had lived to 13 before sadly passing away. I know he is with someone who can show him the love and affection that he deserves and will repay.

Oh how heart breaking for you all but especially poor Guiness whos clearly his faith in humans and just could not begin to re adjust to being moved around, what a shame for him,i only hope he goes to someone with no kids or other animals to take the love he needs away from him.i hope he settles with his new owners and there are no more upheaveals in his life.Poor frick i bet he wonders why his friend came back so grumpy.best wishes lisa and big hugs for Frick.
