On a long walk through the woods today we saw three deer, the dogs were loose but stood stiil and watched as they passed by. It seemeed a real treat to see them, they were so calm and beautiful and the dogs just stopped, pricked up their ears and let them pass quietly. They were excited after but did not attempt to run after them. Just thought i'd share my lovely morning with you all.xxx

I encounter deer quite often on my walk and my boys chase after them like dogs possesed, especially Tom who I lost for an hour after he chased them the 1st time.I was frantic just stood there shouting his name for ages.He eventually rolled up covered in mud and extremely pleased with himself.

I make alot of noise in that area now to spook the Dear before they Dogs get off the lead.

You must have the best behaved dogs ever!!

I'd love to say I do, honestly, Sonny is a devil with his recall if other dogs are about, thats the wierd thing, I didn't even recall them, or try to, they just stood still, I guess they never saw them before and just pondered for a moment I clipped their leeds on while they stood but they never barked or anything. My dogs are lovely but unfortunately not that good.
The other day I was embarrassed as Tia my rescue girl decided she would have a little pop at an elderly shnauzer, the bully, she only growled and barked and the lady gave me that "you should keep your dog under control look" and I should its just that we met on a blind corner So thats what I found a little enchanting that they never took off to chase them, it was like a fairy tale in a kids book. (no i don't take drugs lol). Thanks for posting, More deer stories please. xx
