My girlfriend just bought some Butchers kibble and the packaging looks shit, i searched for it on the net and i cant find it anywhere, the box says the no artifitol colours or perservates (not sure how you spell them words) Now do i feed my dog this stuff or not? I can;t find it so i don't dare feed Lilly it.
Anyone heard of it? the box is plain baby ble and it just says "Butchers tasty bites" |

Biggest ingredient is normally first so you have a lot of wheat and maize-4% chicken is very little meat content-some of those ingredients sound like fillers to me. It doesnt sound brilliant in my opinion hunni. Maybe not ythe best food to give her. x

If you want to feed a decent dry food thats not gonna cost the earth I have and know alot of people that feed Autarky also if you have a Jollyes pet store there own brand dry is good too and doesnt cost the earth either - Pedigree llike most wet foods is full of nothing else really other than water and to be honest is a waste of money IMO if you want to use a wet food I would suggest either natures menu or natures diet although they are a wet complete food.

I feed Zara Wainrights complete which is Pets at home's own brand i think. It has no artificial colourants, flavourings or preservatives and it's quite reasonably priced (i think) It's a dry food but seems really good going by the ingredients.

I have read on several sites that Wagg is a good reasonably priced complete food as well-you can get it from most supermarkets.

Hi I just wanted to say a lot of the dog food we buy is like our food, sometimes you pay for the packagin and the name but if you buy "Tescos own" its the same food, made in the same factory, just in different box! If your dog eats it then great!, remember they have the superpower of their nose and natural instincts....if its bad they just wont touch it! believe me bd, (before diesel), I had a rotty who would only eat the cheapest brand of food in me local pet shop! great for me but said somethin bout the "dearer" brands with loads of colouring and additives! lol!. I give Diesel dry food in his konch for brecky & dinner cos he loves the play, & I give him small meals cos he is totally food orientated so he gets treats all day when he is good, we still in training cos he's a foster doggie with lots of bad behaviors but we are gettin there! lol! I truly believe all dogs need those vitamins and minerals that only meat can give them,... so I give him some tin food every other day,... it doesnt matter how clever these dry foods claim to be, believe me there a lot of elements and minerals that just cant be "added" its the same for us humans. I must admit the meat does makes him fart like mad, silent & very deadly!.. but it keeps his coat shinny and he just adores it! ok I dont eat red meat myself but I'm an omnivore! in nature Diesel wouldn' live on quorn & tuna would he! xx Rosie
