Blue had his first Aludex last Wednesday, from Friday onwards he has had a bad upset stomach. I have fed hom rice and chicken and even tried a couple of tins of chappie but got up this morning and he still has the runs.

Any ideas what this could be? I was thinking it might be a reaction to the Aludex.

Thanks

Changes in diet in general can also cause problems.  Some dogs do not do well with changes in food, which can lead to upset stomach and diarrhea.  If you changed your dog's food and it results in diarrhea, you can  stop feeding the dog for 24 hours , but i would take him to the vets  and ask for Pro-Kolin+ for Dogs and Cats is a very palatable probiotic.
live barteria yogurt  can do the same job though, just need to be careful how much you give because it can have the opposite effect. Keep him on boiled rice and boiled chicken no chappie and boil his water but let it cool down.
You do not want your dog to dehydrate so get him to the vets

Lola got the runs after her Aludex bath so it is possible this is connected.  I didn't feed her for 24hrs and she was fine afterwards.  She also got them after her first application of ear drops a couple of weeks ago - not sure if this was a coincidence or not!!!

Soot got the trots after her first aludex bath, she had them that day and day after but once i feed her some boiled rice and a few bonios she was fine so its a good chance that it was the aludex.
The aludex is fantastic,I shut all the windows and get a right buzz
For some reason it only happened after her first one though.

Jamie - LOL

The stuff stinks - I thought I was going to pass out on the way home from the vets in the car. I had to open all the windows in the car - Got some proper funny looks driving along with the windows open when there was a blizzard blowing outside!

Caroline - It smells like turps/white spirit  and is quite oily to the touch. When Blue came out he was not fully dry. Once Blue was completly dry you could hardly smell anything.
