Please help. Tyne has developed a slight problem of "dribbling", not from the mouth but from the pen**. LOL. He has just turned eight months and I'm not sure if this normal for a boy of his age, or some sort of infection. Any help appreciated. |

I personal haven't had a sniff but my girlfriend has! Not directly but from a tissue I might add. She said it did have a funny smell but I think both possible fluids may have a funny smell! Not sure. He seems fine in himself so i think your right and this is probably normal. Thanks |

what is it that he's dribbling? pee? if it's pee it could be excitment making him leak a bit, but if it's not that I wouldn't know what to tell you. Smells to look out for are really bad ones. if this stuff smells BAD, like, worse than pee smells normally, then it could be some sort of infection. I'd probably go the vets and have him checked out either way. Is it all the time or just sometimes? maybe bring some on a tissue to the vets incase there is no leakage at the vets for him to look at.

Honestly, boy dog sometimes dribble the sperm when they are getting mature, without sexual intercourse. Max gives me wet patch( and as it gets dry it goes whitey colour ) on my jeans when his male banks is full as he sit on my lap. |

Sometimes male dogs get what is called Balanoposthitis. This is because male dogs don't "wipe" after peeing and a bit of urine pools inside the penile sheath leaving a greenish pus looking discharge. this is normal but can develop into a Urinary Tract Infection if left unattended. You can help him out by wiping his "friend" with a hypoallergentic baby wipe or a warm wet paper towel. sometimes that shows him that he should do that. I had a chihuahua who had this problem and after wiping him down a few times he cleaned himself up all by himself...

Thanks for all the advice, it seems to happen most when he is sleeping which leads me to think its a "Male problem" and nothing to worry about, I think he is just coming of age! If anything changes will let you guys know. |
