Took Tia and Jedd for their walk this morning and everything was ok until i walked through the park .I noticed a bloke just coming of the park with his dog not on a lead but didn't think nothing about it ,the next thing this big dog came over to us a started to have a sniff at the pair of them and the next thing i know Jedd went for it's neck (he didn't grad the neck just went for it )i pulled him back and said NO by which time the dogs owner had come for his dog. |

hello maxine, I am obviously no expert but I would say that there is nothing to worry about yet. My harley did something similar to this when he was around 10 or 11 months, only to male dogs. Now he doesnt do it anymore and most of the time he ignores other dogs. However when he ever showed any form of dominace over other dogs I would tell him off and put him on the lead for a while.
Maybe jedd felt a bit threatened by a bigger dog? maybe this dog was getting too closed to tia. Maybe jedd is being protective of tia? As soon as you see jedd getting a suspicious interest in other dogs just stop him, do anything to make him snap out of it. Tell him off if he misbehaves. Sorry I can't help anymore but what I can say is that when harley was naughty with other dogs I was mortified. He has now snapped out of it but I always watch him carefully when around other dogs to correct him if he tries to be the 'big boy'! x |

possibly hes about 2 years old? and finding his feet add this to protecting his girl buddy from a bigger dog....i wouldnt be to worried if i were you but sometimes you have to accept that despite people kidding thereselves sbts can be dog aggresive...its in there bloodlines.. some are some are not but the possibilty is always there..best you can do is show your disaproval when he does it. i personally have always let mine be around other dogs and be very sociable but its not foolproof. my previous sbt lennox was mard arsed all his life but didnt like big dogs getting around him..tried everything but couldnt really trust him with a big dog...only downside to sbts as far as i know..

at 7 months old i very much doubt there was any serious thoughts of an attack although you dont want him to carry on doing it, sometimes a bit awkward as you carnt correct him until he does it again..
