Hello All,
Just a quick question....have been giving my boy raw bones and have noticed he has been chewing them fine and enjoys them however a day or so later he seems to have runny poos and will then vomit vile and normally a bit of bone??? He is fine in mood and still a happy puppy but this is defnitely not nromal.....I was told raw bones were good (beef bones) so I am not sure what I should do....whether he is just being a piggy and not chewing enough or maybe he is just not ready for bones??? (He is 8 months) Can any one give me some suggestions or help......bit worried!!! Is it worth having a chat to my vet??? Thanks :o) |

how long have you been giving him bones? i know bonnie was teh same for a while as she was so greedy that she would gobble them up too quickly. so we tried the big long bones (dont ask me what they are as my fiance gets them as i cant even look at them i think thigh) and the butcher cuts it in half. and then my fiance scoops teh marrow out and she licks it up. these bones are too tough to swallow bits and she loves licking at it and nibblng so no more gulping. im think they are more expensive but they last longer too. no more runny poos or vomitting up gross stuff. and tehy are less fatty so the vet told us.

Maybe give him smaller bones... Rex is 7 months old and is fine with the beef bones I buy from the butcher...
