Hi there, yes i agree with maxine .... dont go too far too fast .... nothing to strenious till he is fully matured. Play time in the house, in the garden and a 10 to 20 minute walk should be more then enough excerise for the pup.
While still a pup I would concentrate more on Training ..... Walking on a lead .... lots of socialization with humans and other dogs (always supervised of course) and distraction training then finaly off lead recalls while having different levels of distraction to proof your stafford. Proof meaning knowing that he/she will follow your verbal and/or hand signals no matter what the distraction is. By the age of 2 years old he should be ready for more physical excersize and not worry about basic obedience and recall work. |

Thanks guys..... introduced Diesel to Suki our neighbours dog (bull mastiff) they got along fine..... next week we start puppy training .... looking forward to that.... I agree I need to concentrate on his lead walking, recall and socialising so puppy training will be a good way to get that started hopefully.
Thanks for the advice guys Zoe |

I would reccomend ..... getting a cheap nylon leash and cut the end off it where you put your hand through the loop making it into a drag line. You cut the end off so that it wont get cought on anything while he's walking around the house and in the garden with it on.
Basicaly you will put the leash on him in the house and in the back yard/garden if you have one. You want him to get used to having a leash on him. Doing this will also help with getting him in control in the house when you need too for corrections.
