I'm doing a sponcored walk for the Scottish Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue to help raise funds in a couple of weeks and I'm starting to get worried about Nog, he's not that great with other dogs although a friend of mine is coming to with his springer who Nog gets on with. I'm just worried he wont calm down or he'll get out of his harness etc.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appriciated

Head control and check chain works with our gsd as he too is a bit of a pain near other dogs and this controls there head and neck so you have more control is that makes sense. Hope all goes well and good luck.x

all dogs should wear a collar in public - it is against the law not to have identity tags on your dog and its advisable to have a tag saying they are microchipped too.

i think the choke/check chain idea is fine and will not casue problems - but only if you are experienced using one correctly.

as for haltis causing broken necks...lol...dont think i have ever heard anything so silly!! but if your dog isnt used to one then they do play up at first - not ideal on a walk when he already isnt keen on other dogs!

just walk as you would normally, keepa supply of treats/his faourite toy to hand and use that as a distraction. once walking he should get into a rythmn and pretty much forget the other dogs

He has his ID TAG on his Harness which also states he is Chipped,  even if I change his harness the ID TAG gets changed over.  He just doesnt like having a collar on n I've always used a harness.

Good luck with your walk. Im afraid it is against law not to have collar, one of my friends was out with his dog on an harness only, police pulled him up give him a warning, saying he would be charged next time. So be careful. This was only a toy breed too not a staff.

I'd love to do it too.

You could advertise in a small local pet shop if they would let you. Lots of animal lovers there probably willing to pay.

I sponsored someone in a petshop advertisement not long ago, it was for Race for Life not an animal thing though.
