My neighbours cat's have taking a shine to my garden. At first they were happy to sit on the garage roof, and would stare out the dog's.now they are getting cheaky, and at night, sitting
outside my back door. it's almost as if they are doing it for spite, knowing the dogs are in,and cant get them. Now the dogs are sniffing and barking several times during the night and everyone is wakened it is driving me mad. This has gone on for 4 nights now. This morning i let the dogs out,and the cat's had left me a little gift, which i dident like (little bird) That made me feel sick.I did mention to my neighbour, and the reply was.(They must like you.) I dident expect that,so i said no more.Is there anything i could put in the garden,to make them leave
I dont want to harm them.(i like cats) I just  dont want my dogs barking and crying all night .
 thankyou.

there are several things you can use, I'm sure you can get variety of products from garden center, as cat are not gardener's favorite animal. ( they dig soft soil to do their business don't they )

I think those cat eyed ornament ( to chase cat away ) or  the plant cat doesn't like the smell of sort of thing.

Max is proper cat hater. he check our top of the shed from inside of the house and sometimes bark at it.

Those things with reflective eyes dont work - mum had them in her garden and had 3 cats of her own who used to lie next to it lol
Dont really know what works to tell you the truth. Hope you find something though.

I've got an ultra sonic thing that's supposed to keep cats out - the site said that they guaranteed that if used properly, cats would keep away - but I don't know if it works cos I've not seen a cat in the garden for a while - but is it because the device is keeping them out or am I just missing them!!!

The only thoughts I had was that it would affect the dogs as well but it doesn't seem to be bothering them.

My mum is plagued with cats in her garden - her loopy neighbour feeds every cat in the neighbourhood!  She's found that a bucket of water is certainly off-putting to them!

dont think theres a great deal of things that will get rid of cats other than a big cat hating dog! that can go wrong too as i like cats and pritty much am a general animal lover, but once saw my mrs uncles staffy catch a cat and continue to swallow it and i do mean swallow it, while my mrs and her nan who was looking after the dog went hysterical i had the job of pulling the cat by it back legs from the dogs mouth! not something id like to do again!

Citronella oil will work its a citrus smell and cats hate it, you can buy at any garden centre just stick it around the edge of the property.  Even if you take orange peel and rub it around the borders of your garden that works too cats dislike citrus, you can also buy the citronella candles for outside in the garden.  I have 2 cats too I know what they are like lol and I can understand why you don't want them in your garden and winding up the dog/s.

The sonic devices that were talked about are ok I suppose but not only do they effect cats they effect all small animals such as squirrals small rodents etc, they work by sending a really loud [to cats etc only] sound and I'm not sure I would want to do that to any animal.  I hope this helps.

Id either get a water gun like someone said or id just leave my dogs out more often with back door open. There is some stuff you can put down that Cats are supposed to hate the smell

OH MY GOODNESS I know its not laughing matter but my vivid imagination flies again, pulling cats legs off dogs mouths!!! Thank god the dog just swallow the cat, ( not biting to bits )and cat didn't scratch inside of dog to death as it came out

and I definitely don't  want to be that situation either.
