Can anyone advise me.
Since yesterday morning my kai has been acting strange. Took her out on her early morning walk, no problems, when she came in she ran under bed, which is where her bed is, but she never ever sleeps in it. Only seems to go there if she is scared, or has beeen told no or something.
Went on 2nd walk, did extactly same thing.
My husband came home to take her out, she was fine no problems, after walk run under bed again, the same thing happened all evening, now in the eveing she always hangs around me constantly sitting on my knee or at my side, but she ran under bed and we did not see her all night.
She is doing same thing today.
She does not seem ill, is acting quite normally apart from this.
Has anyones dog ever done this I am so worried. The only way she will come out is for food, which when she has eat it, she runs back under bed again, as though she has been very bad.
Can anyone help me?

Sounds odd Wendy. Could anything have happened to her if she was out of sight albeit
for a second or two, could she have gotten stung or bitten or something? Have you ran your hands all over her to see if you can feel anything out of the usual, a rash, a scab??
Dont know what else to suggest.

Thanks for replies, I have checked bed nothing in it strange, as I thought maybe she had an accident or something. But no.
I will check her Lynne again, but she acts fine outside, and she is spayed.
I dont think she is lying there cos shes tired, as she seem to be on alert.

I suppose at least I didnt find anything like a mouse haha thats a good one!

No nothing happened whatsoever, she just walked in door and ran under bed, and has been doing this ever since, she was quite happy on walk and all her other walks since that. She is usually so social and wants to be where we are, but its really worrying that she just lies there now, and only comes out if food is around or offered. Also she never ever went in her bed before, only if she was scared or told off for something.

Sounds strange isn't it. she didn't hear any big bang noise like fire work ? I'm just trying to think what my dogs doesn't like scare them enough to hide.....

Hope she went back to herself since then. is she alright??

Only time Tasha took to her bed more than usual was due to a phantom pregnancy and she wanted to 'nest' but i dont know if they can get a phantom once spayed.

Just an update on this situation.
I ended up in vets early this morning, as she got really weirder throughout the night, kept running in living room, looking at me and running back under bed. Then she lay there very lathargic, I thought maybe it was her ear again after infection last week, so thought Id have to go back to vets, as she was acting odd all night, even when she should have been fast asleep.
Checked over in vets, she said she was fine, no physical problems, ear ok, temperature fine. Vet said maybe it was something to do with ear drops, but she did not seem to be worried about having eardrops in. They told me to stop giving her them, and see if her beahaviour changes.
So I am non the wiser really.
Hopefully this will work itself out, any ideas, do I fuss her with this behaviour or just ignore it?

Wendy-its so frustrating isnt it. If it was me I would just carry on as normal-dont fuss her or make a big deal of it-we know what drama queens Staffys are-Ive gotone here. You have had her checked over-so just ignore the daft behaviour and pretend she isnt doing it-Im sure it will sort itself out soon. .xx
