Yes Tasha has got a little rash on her tummy. Its like little red dots and she has got one or two larger lumps like pimples. She has also got a small bald patch under her neck so the vet is going to do a skin scrape tomorrow. He thinks it may be an allergy but more likely a skin infection. He wants to do the scrape to determine what it is then I should get the results in a couple of days and then Tash can have her spots treated. Apparentley according to the vet, this breed is prone to skin problems when young.
I'll let you know as soon as I find out whats up with Tasha. Kaz |

Sorry to have to say they can suffer with skin prob... mainly with grasses at the change of season. i have cream for when it happens or you could make your own up with natural oils. They can even get hayfever.... Billy suffers badly with hayfever. But always get it check first with a vet. |

saff gets a hive like rash under her skin if she has been in long grass and it drives her mad but it goes very quick she does tend to get it more in the long grass in summer though becouse its the type of seeds that is in the long grass if that makes sense

Aloe Vera gel is usually good for this sort of thing, it sooths it for your dog as well.

Hi....i agree with what others are saying etc about grass & other allergies, its always best to get checked by a Vet just to be on the safe side, aloe vera or oatmeal based shampoos, lotions etc work a treat on rashes / sensitive skins...helps sooth the skin & settles down rash.. :) :) :)

Hi Terry,
I have a number of stafford and some have grass allergies, they also chew there feet which is another sign that it is an allergy. I use an oil mix on my dogs food and 99% of the allergy is gone. its easy to use and make. 500mls of extra virgin olive oil 200mls of linseed or flaxseed oil 200mls of fish oil or cod liver oil 100mls of sunflower oil. Put all oil in a 1 lt bottle and shake before using. 1 table spoon on each meal, the oil will keep for months. Julie |
