My friends were down the Yorkshire Dales yesterday and E found a touchscreen phone in a field thing so he took it and then S, another 'mate' asked if he could buy it so he said no he was keeping it and that was that. This morning they got up [they'd been camping]  and S had packed his stuff up and gone. Then he sent him a text basically bribing him.

 

When they#d got home a bit later his mam phoned up saying they were coming up for this phone [S is almost 30 and getting his mummy to phone up] so E just said 'I found it, it's mine'. At this point we were in E's garage and me and David needed the loo so we went in the house. I was coming down the stairs and I saw "I" outside [S's mam] so I legged it outside and saw E stumbling out of the garage and S walking off with a bat in his hand saying 'you shouldn't have nicked my phone then' then threw the phone at the wall.

 

Turned out his mam had drove her son up for him to smash E over the head 3 times with a rounders bat. Now he's in hospital. And can't press charges because they'd probably kill all the family. Been mates with him about 5 years and always knew he was dodgy, but didn't think he was capable of that.

 

Over a frickin' phone.

 

I am absolutley raging.

Woo,i would get some new mates cus id hate to think how this head case would treat his enemies if he smashes his friends head in over a phone,omg id defo get rid of this blokes number out ya phone and tell him to go play on the motorway lol.

Yes it is real in some parts of the country, keep away from people like that and I would report the phone as found to the police and who has it.   Just because it has been found doesn't mean it belongs to the finder, it doesn't, it still belongs to the orignal person.

omg this world has gone crazy!  As I was reading this i just thought you were joking or something.  Obviously you are not.  this goes to show that you have to be very careful choosing your friends.

Well, he took the phone and threw it in a dam afterwards apparantly [ another mate went out with him for a bit yesterday to get a bit more evidence for the cops that's how we know]. Anyway he's decided to press charges so that's good, but he's set up CCTV to keep an eye out for him. So we've gotta all give statements, it's been handed over to the CID they've taken his clothes and everything. Police have said he's looking at 2-3 years so fingers crossed.

Well done to you and your friends for reporting this, unfortunately far too many people are too frightened to report these attacks.  The will never stop unless they are reported.

'S' got his door bashed in yesterday by the cops with sniffer dogs and allsorts apparantly. And they found guns and all kindsa crap in his flat. It's kinda scary to think I was mates with him tbh. Anyways, he's admitted to everything :D
