As some of you already know, Poppy is litter of Sasha, once sold for this lady but came back home just in 4 days as this lady wanted me to take her back as her boyfriend was too short tempered.
Since Poppy came back home she really really doesn't like to be in the car. She always roll up on the floor shaking. I thought she'll grow out of it but she's still like it even when she knows I'm taking her somewhere she likes to walk with Sasha. I do remember this lady was saying on the phone, really upset and sobbing and crying, she couldn't stand how her boyfriend was short tempered and she didn't think it was fair on my Poppy. ( didn't tell me what exactly happened ) Same evening I just went to take her back . but I just cannot think if that's anything to do with since then Poppy became so scared of car? Was it such a bad experience for her to be in new home and does she still remembering and associating the memory with going into the car? I wish I could speak to my Poppy and she could tell me what she exactly thinking and what she feel....

Aww poor Poppy, sounds like she deffo had a bad experience at other place with the bad tempered so and so. Have you tried just sitting her in the car with no engine, no noise for a little while maybe leave the door ajar? Try from scratch and see if you can build up her confidence.

ah poor Poppy, something probably happened to her with this man in the car. I think staffs have really good memories, Kai will remember a bad incident always and nothing you can do will change her mind.

juju, adlersparker - yes, I have sit in her car sometimes but she even doesn't like to go into the car. Wish some encouragement she pop in the seat with me but I can see she's shaking. I act and sounds cheerful as nothing to worry about there. As Poppy loves to be with my husband I sometimes take her in the car to see him ( at his lunchtime. He does ground work. ) I was kind of hoping the good experience over come to bad one, but as you say, they aren't stupid , got good memory don't they.
Mattie - Thank you for the information. I just looked her page. Even if she couldn't find it out what had happened there, if she could tell Poppy that I'm not going let her go anywhere and she has nothing to worry about as I love her so much, it will be great. ( Gosh I'm crying now..) |

Aww don't cry you'll have me at it.
![]() I am sure with a little bit of time and patience Poppy will begin to overcome her fear. I am sat at the mo and it is thundering mine bolted up and looked at me worriedly, I carried on and totally ignored him and he has fell back to sleep. Sometimes it's better to ignore the fear if they think it frightens you it can feed the fear. I am sure you will have it sorted in no time, sending you both a big hug xx |

Thank you very much for the kind word juju, I'm getting a bit silly over it maybe just because I felt so guilty letting her go with this lady. When they came to see her I asked loads of question and told them what they expect to see and have to deal with- puppy behaviour and everything. She told me her brother had a staffy then she seemed to know about staffy well.
This event really put me off and I made decision I never ever breed my dogs again. |

Don't beat yourself up about it. You shouldn't feel guilty you have done your very best for Poppy, these things happen sometimes and at least now she is back in the loving arms of her family.
