My puppy Kaiser has been acting weird since I took him to the vet to get his first set of shots.  He doesn't play at all, he just wants to lay down next to me all day and do nothing.  Seems to have very little energy.  He doesn't wander around the house unless its with me... basically never leaves my side.  I'm afraid to go out and leave him alone for 10 minutes because I feel he's gonna freak out.

He's peeing and pooping normally but he's not eating.  The vet gave me Nutri Stat supplement so I'm giving him that.  Still it worries me that a puppy this age doesn't want to play or eat and ishappy just sleeping all day long.

Side note:  I brought him home on friday night, he had a good night sleep and the next day took him out to walk and play a few times (vet told me this was a mistake because he didn't had his shots yet).  Those days when he went out to play he was acting normal.  I haven't taken him out anymore because the vet told me not to until he gets his second set of shots due in 1 month.

So you took him to the vets on Friday or Saturday for his shots?

I shouldn't worry about it too much. Crowley was really sleepy for a day or 2 after his shots. I can't say about the eating thing cos he's greedy but I should think it also has something to do with the vaccination.

If he is still like it in 2 or 3 days then maybe you should take him back to the vet.

hi i wouldn't worry about it either, cleo went for her shots a week ago and she was exactly the same for 4 days, for the first 2 days she just wanted to sleep but then each day after she slowly started getting back to her old mischievous self lol

curious about the month gap between jabs though as we have been told 2 weeks 3 tops ?

Brought him home friday, took his shots saturday noon and slept all day afterwards...

Also, on friday night he slept on his bed.  Saturday night he wouldn't sleep... was trying to crawl up on our bed all night.  We didnt know what to do so we let him sleep with us.  It was amazing how quickly he fell asleep when we let him on our bed (5 seconds tops) but tried to put him back on his bed a few times and the same thing happenned over again.

We have not done any crate training at all yet so I didn't want to force him into his crate for the first time like that, dont want his first long time period in the crate an unpleasant experience for him.  Any thoughts on this?

my pups went for their first shots last week 6 days ago and one is his usual "full of it" self the other looks a bit under the weather nothing specific or too bad but a bit more lethargic like hes lost a bit of zest and his appetite is down a bit the vet said this might happen but it has been really warm weather so that might be affecting it it suddenly comes back if we feed him roast chicken though

I took mine for his shots and when I got him home he just had a drink then went to sleep, ever since I've had my Staffy (about 2 weeks now) he has always been like a lazy dog so nothing really changed he's just eating less which the vet said would be down to the heat causing loss of paitite (if that's how it's spelt lol)

Just try and keep him cool when it heats up by getting some cold water and wiping it on him with your hand, mine settles down after that and eats so much so quick he ends up with the hiccups lol

Obviously if your still worried about him then it would probably be best to phone your vet and see what they say
