Hi all  new to site thought i would pick your brains
billys 3 and when left home screams like a tazzy devil. You cant leave him in the dog yard and he likes to know where we are at all times.maya who is out going has made no diff. Had many staffys over the years but not seen this. Quick billy history;got him from a local breeder my daughter picked him up.Icried when i first laid eyes on him he was (if) 5 weeks old did not know what water or food was. He had been tacken straight from his mum. He needed alot of time spent with him.have tried all the many things over  time including vet meds but i dont like using them.   ANY SEGESTIONS

Cheers  vivid/vicki

Oh Vicki, what an awful start your Billy had, poor little man. Thank god you found him.
I'm no expert by no manner, and I expect you have tried everything I'm going to mention
Leave radio on, leave him with toys, There are plug ins which put pheramones into the air which can calm a dog. Have you tried seperating him from you while you are in, first for very short periods, then go to him and make a fuss of him, gradually increasing the periods of seperation. leave him with something which has your smell on it.
I'm sure you will get loads more suggestions. I hope you manage to overcome this with Billy

Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

It sounds kinda like a separation anxiety about being on his own.

Have a wee read of this to see if it gives you any suggestions as to how to stop it

Hope it gives you some ideas.

hello i had a german shepherd that was exactly the same he used to wreck any room he was left in and he would howl and bark really loud so i did what was suggested earlier  i would leave him for a minute then go back to him it took me months to get him to the stage where i could leave him for 2-3 hours and gradually i got him to 4 hours it is was huge job but well worth it because apart from that he was a beautiful dog
