If you haven't already done so, please add a pic of you or your staffy as your profile pic.
To do this go to Settings-Profile Picture from within your account. If the pic is too big it won't upload so you can resize pics here: http://www.shrinkpictures.com/
You may also want to go to Settings-Profile Settings to fill in the rest of your profile.
Staffy owners want to get to know you, so why not add some details?:-)
If you have already done these things, thank you .
On another note we have two more birthdays today. Biggirl is 29 and Gillyboor1 is 42.
Don't get too drunk. You've a staffy to look after;-)

Super Staffy Saves Boys Life
I caught this story in a local Belfast paper today. It strikes me how the media are very quick to print negative stories about Staffordshire Bull Terriers and we've all seen them.
Fair play to the Andersonstown News, Belfast for painting the Staffy in it's true light. This was a front page story.
You can read the full story from the image below.

What Da %$&£ Are Tags? Throughout the site when adding your items you will be asked to insert 'Tags' and many of you may be thinking - 'What da %$^£ are Tags?' Well, rather than try to explain it myself I have copied some descriptions from Wikipedia below:
|
Quote:
A tag is a (relevant) keyword or term associated with or assigned to a piece of information (a picture, a geographic map, a blog entry, a video clip etc.), thus describing the item and enabling keyword-based classification and search of information.
Tagging example
A web page hosted on a web server or blog server which supports tagging, might have the tags Baseball, Yankees, Tickets, Away Games, and Discounts. A human reader can probably tell the purpose of the page by quickly scanning the list of tags.
Typically, the server would display the tags in a list on that page, with each tag displayed as a web link leading to an index page listing all web pages which use that tag. This allows a reader to locate quickly all pages which have been associated with the term Yankees. If the server supports tag searching, a reader would be able to find all pages that use a particular set of tags, such as Yankees and Tickets.
|
So, basically when you are adding a blog post or video you should add a few descriptive keywords that relate to your video or blog. Below you can see how the tags will appear on the main page of this site. Each keyword leads to the blogs or videos that used these tags when submitting the items:

Putting Images in Your Blog Posts
It's good to add some images to your blog posts. It helps make your blogs more interesting.
If you have an image in your Photobucket or other online image center then you simply copy the image url(web address) into the form for adding images to your blog post.
You can also add a description of your image and changes it's size. If your image is too big your blog won't look good and it will stretch the dimensions of the entire page.
I suggest you keep your image to 500 pixels or less.
Here's a handy online tool for resizing your images: http://www.shrinkpictures.com/
You can resize your images above before adding them to your blog or you can resize them in the blog image form(seen in the pic below)
Hope you have found this short tutorial helpful. Now go create something for your blog right now!

I have just launched the Staffy club to the general public.
Hopefully we will start to see some activity around here.
It's been a month or two since I set the site up and in that time I have been making some changes and ironing out some problems. I think everything is set now.
This is a new club and a work in progress so I will be relying on feedback from the membership to make it the best it can be.
Don't hold back from getting in touch if you have any suggestions.

Some Cool Features on Staffy Club
I'm loving some of the features and uses on this site. I can't wait to open it up to the general public.
Each time a member conducts an activity like adding pictures, adding comments, etc etc there points level goes up and the stars below their profile name should start to light up. This encourages members to get involved.
Given the popularity of myspace I think this can become a popular venue for all staffy owners to meet and greet.

Welcome to the Staffy Club
Well, this is my first blog. I have just setup this new site which i believe has a lot of functionality and will be a great hit for Staffy owners and lovers.
I can envisage this site becoming a real hit. I see it as a Myspace for Staffies.
This blog is just one section of the whole site. For those of you who are not familiar with blogs, they are basically an online diary.
You could use it to keep us all updated on how your Staffy is doing. What he gets up to on a daily or a weekly basis. You can post a new entry to your blog as often or as little as you like.
Wouldn't it be great to read back on this as the months and years go by.
I hope you write your own blog and keep it up to date.
