Well, today we had to cancel the puppy training for tonight - my son & I have had a cold since the weekend, but he also had a croup attack in the night and was pretty poorly. Thankfully, the paediatrician had given us some steroids so that he wouldn't have to go into hospital if he had it again - so he took that and was better, but it's kicked off his asthma. Didn't think it was a good idea to take him when he's knackered from hardly any sleep and feeling crap...

But... emailed the trainer, and waiting for the date of the next 5 week block (also means we haven't missed the first class)...

Until then... keeping a firm grip on Mrs Wiggles (her alter ego)... as she was trying the blooming dominant thing again with a Schnauzer!!! The owner was impressed though by my firmness with her, and putting her in her place. :D

Will post back when the training starts for real... trust me to get all excited!!!

Thought I'd start to keep a blog covering Skye's puppy training - which starts tomorrow evening!

I emailed the trainer a friend just started with last week, and he said we can start tomorrow and they'll give us a make up lesson for the one we missed. Which is ace - means not waiting for another 5 weeks!

I'm really looking forward to it, as is my son, and I'll be glad of having some experts see how we do things with Skye, and help us.

She's generally really good, but has started to be a bit dominant with smaller dogs when we're out (and she's offlead)... and it escalated to her growling badly at a Spaniel puppy, and getting on top of her and grabbing her neck! I was mortified, reprimanded her and put her back on the lead... but I want help NOW so that I know how to handle this and not have to walk her on the lead all the time!!!

She's also growled a few times at my son, I think in jealousy of him trying to get near me / move her away from me... but again, want tips to stamp on this.

Anyway... I'll post after the first lesson, let you know how it went... and hopefully we won't be the dunces of the class! LOL
