Is there anyone out there that has any news of the Wag and Bone show,do we know if it's going ahead this year????
Hi folks. I just wanted to wish my Dudley boy a very happy 1st Birthday and say that he's completed our family. Also a very Happy Birthday to Dudleys sister Lottie (percy on this site). Lots of treats and cuddles tonight for my special boy.Sam.XXX
Hi Everyone.Thought i'd fill you in on a bit of good news. When i got my 1st Staffie pup in January 08 he had a really bad case of Demodex mange and was in a very bad way with it.From the age of 6 weeks until now i've been bathing him every 1 to 2 weeks in Aludex.(smelly stuff).I then got another Staffie pup in September 08 that was diagnosed with the same thing,so had to bath 2 dogs with the Aludex and it was a big job that killed my back!!!! Over the last month the baths haven't been working for my older Staffie Leo and he started to lose alot of hair on his head, i was at my wits end and thought that this would never go away. I made an appointment to see our vet for skin srapes etc. When we got there she said that she didn't want to waste my money by doing the scrapes as she could see that his Demodex had taken hold again. She left the room with a big smile on her face saying that she had something to show me!!!!!! She came back a few seconds later with this leaflet in her hand. She had just come back from America, she had been to a new drug seminar. In the leaflet there were before and after photo's of dogs with Demodex that had been treated with a new drug called ProMeris Duo.It has just been licensed in the uk but wasn't out for general use yet but she would call the manufacturer and see what she could do for us. 2 days later she called me to say that she had managed to get hold of the ProMeris and it would be there the following day. I went to collect it and i put it on the dogs the same day.24 hours later Leos skin was nowhere as pink as it had been.I'm sooo excited and i really hope that this works. All it is is a spot on treatment that you use once a month. No more Advocate and no more smelly baths for us. Keep your fingers crossed for us and i'll give you an up date soon. Take care all.Sam.
If anyone(like me) missed the coverage of the small ITV documentary about our breed i found a way that you can see all 3/4 parts of it.If you go to www.mayhewanimalhome.org then go to mayhew on itv on their home page, you'll be able to see all of it there. It's very interesting but i'm not sure that it's done us any favours!!!! Have a look and let me know what you think.Cheers,Sam.X

Just wanted to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and really hope that you all have lots of fun, laughter and of course too much to eat and drink. Also wanted to say a big thanks to Lisa(percy on this site) for making the last few months extra special by letting us come and collect our new addition Dudley(formerly known as Floyd on this site). Our 2 staffie boys are very happy together and i don't think that they could be without each other now.Cheers Lisa. Have a good one guys. All the best.Sam,Leo and Dudley.
Hi everyone.I read a blog written by tizaac on 1/10/08 about the canny collar. It sounded great.Leo wasn't too bad on the lead but since we got Dudley he seems to pull to get pole position. So,i thought what the hell,it won't break the bank.It cost me £16.70 including express delivery. I took the boys out for a stroll this evening and was a bit worried as to what Leo would think of the canny collar as there is a part if it that goes across the snout!!!! We got ready and left the house with a few shakes of his head but by the time we reached the end of the road he was fine. I have to say that the canny collar is the best thing that i have bought as far as walkies goes.It was like walking a different dog and i was amazed at how quickly it worked and how easy it was for him to get used to it.I'll definatley be sending off for one for Dudley. If you do send off for 1 make sure that you follow the guidlines for measuring your dog properly as it comes in different sizes. Thanks canny collar and many thanks to TIZAAC.
Hi Guys.Need some help really.I let Dudley out into the garden about 20 mins ago,he was a good boy and did a poo.I turned round to get a poo bag from the kitchen but by the time i'd come back he had eaten half of it!!!!! Can anyone tell me why they do this???? I now know why his breath ALWAYS stinks. Please help.Thanks.Sam.
I have 2 young male staffies,1 that is castrated and the other 1 will be asap.I read something the other day that worried me........is it true that you shouldn't keep 2 males together as they fight??????They do play aggressivley but i stop it before it gets too rough. Can anyone shed any light on this as i want to stop any problems before they may happen.Thanks.Sam
