skye's emergency vet visit!
Posted On: 09/07/2008 08:38:57

Hi All,
we had to take skye to emergency vet last night, carl had taken her for evening walk and when he returned, he said somethings up with skye, she come running over to me shaking her head. her head was also leaning down to one side and she was almost walking around in circles? she was also scratching one of her ears as this point we realized something must be stuck in her ear, i looked but could not see anything, so off we went. The emergency vet examined her and saw a grass seed, she tried to remove it with crocodile clips but skye had other ideas and just wouldn't keep still, so vet advised sedating her, which we both agreed as i didn't want them do damage her ear drum and she was traumatised enough. Soon realized that it couldn't be done there and then as skye had eaten less than 3hours ago, so was given some earwash told to call my vet in the morning to see if she can have it done there, if not then i will have to take her back to our emergncey vet.

What a night i have had? i slept on the sofa with skye and haven't really slept with worrying about my baby, skye on the otherhand was snoring her head off! typical!!
we will keep you informed of how skye gets on today.

Poor Skye and poor you too Chantal. That must have been horrible for you all. It must have driven Skye mad poor little monkey. Thats typical that you have a restless night and Skye slept through it all leaving you to worry. Hope all goes well for you today . Big hugs for Skye. Will check in later to see how it turned out. Hi Chantel & Carl,

Oscar had this once and i can honestly say most dogs will do at some point, only really happens to dogs with smaller ear curls and short hair but does happen alot. Am sure skye will be fine and atleast you have spotted it.

Good luck and keep us posted.
