why did we join the club
Posted On: 20/09/2008 06:14:40
Hi guys and love you all..lol
Iv been reading alot of stuff that just bothers me lately in club and should not be here. we are here to meet and get to know others with a common thread the staffordshire. This is not a breeders club and if it was then maybe some of the topics could be brought forward, but its not maybe only 1% on here are breeders and i would hope all good breeders. The rest are ppl that just love their dogs for what they are, a family member that is loved. Do all dogs look good enough for the show ring? no. do the owners care? no. will some owners breed ther dog because they would like to breed it? yes and we are not here to  judge them.  we did not jion to put ppl down we are not in their shoes we are only here to help what ever decision is made and to maybe answer some common problems that arise with the breed.Am i a breeder? yes for 20 years. do i obide by the rules? yes. Will all dogs born conform to the stats no.. will they go on to be much loved pets you bet.Well its those dogs that are represented mostly in this club not perfect but very much loved then again us as humans are not perfect either. So as a lover of the staffordshire first and formost would love to see the pages of this club going back to the way it should be
informative and helpfull.

ps....This all i have to say on the matter

hello i stopped going to sister site very often because it was very in your face almost aggressive so i tended to stay on here it was very friendly more laid back but i am sorry to say that it is becoming just like the other site people dont post, people dont respond and not many people chat if you dont agree with somebody it doesnt mean they are wrong it just worked for them and not for you so dont put them done either dont respond or if you do then do it politely otherwise more and more people will stop returning

I totally agree with Kevin about the other site, I used to be a regular on the other site, but couldn't stand the bitching that went on, so i joined this one as it seemed alot better and very friendly. I hope it doesn't end up being a horrible place like that. xxx

I agree totaly with you. I am new to the breed and don't think I will ever breed my baby ( couldn't part with the puppies) but I joined the club as it seemed a friendly and informative place to get advice.  It would be unfortunate if people were put off asking questions for fear of being rideculed or worse. Support  the pack we have enough people on our backs we need to stick together.

Hurrah!!!! congratulations Vicky for having the gutts to say what we were all wanting to say!!!! i have never bred staffs or dont think i ever will but If duke turns out not to be the size and shape etc to what is set by the standards does this mean i have to love him less or have my opinion of him change CERTAINLY NOT!!!!!!!! We all love our staffs just the way they are and these 'perfect' ones are no better than our own so these so called perfectionists had better not say anything against our babies as we would take it personally and defend our beloved  family member. xx

I bred my first dog 24 years ago, was she a pedigree NO! i later became registered breeder and i too follow the rules because thats what i agreed to do when i became a reg breeder. But my dogs are my babies first, and there health and well being comes first, over showing and breeding.

if others choose to breed there dogs, then thats there choice , and if they come to me for help then i am always happy to do so if i can, i never  ask if there dog is a pedigree or not, its not my place to judge, only to help.

we are here to meet and befriend other who love there Stafford, faults and all.
