hi all
firstly thanks to everyone who has expressed concern your kind words and comments really do mean a lot to me.
well just got home form vets, skye is fine for now headed straight to the sofa and crashed out!

the whole experience has been rather traumatic for

she would not even let Brian (skyes vet) come near her to have a look, which is highly unusual as she usually wage her tail and pees everywhere when he greets her, so went straight ahead and gave her sedation firstly intra-muscular as both thought it would be too much for her to try and locate a vein, it started to kick in but after 30mins still wagging her tail and only slightly drowsy. so gave her some more but this time inta-venus, he told me this should only take a couple of mins, Ha ha still skye was happily wagging her tail after 15? so a bit more and this was it she would not be able to have anymore, tried to remove it but skye was still flinching and getting really distressed.
next step gas to put her to sleep

, which again should only take a few mins, more like 10 before he could remove it which he did, it looked like a litte dart,
and had gone so deep that it had gone into her ear drum and slightly perferated it!
so realy have to keep my eye on her she will be on antibiotics for a few weeks too.
I got totally freaked out when she woke as she did not know where she was or whom i was had to leave her alone, up until this point i was very calm and really apprieciated brian letting me stay in, which i think was due to me been a dental nurse and dealing with sedated patients. after about 5mins skye realized i was there, she jumped up at me and smothered me in staffy kisses

, it really brought a lump to my throat.

Finally this whole experience has cost me a £250 the most expensive grass seed i have ever bought, its really not about the money though i am just so glad its over with.
thanks again so much to you all love chantal x
Hi All,
we had to take skye to emergency vet last night, carl had taken her for evening walk and when he returned, he said somethings up with skye, she come running over to me shaking her head. her head was also leaning down to one side and she was almost walking around in circles? she was also scratching one of her ears as this point we realized something must be stuck in her ear, i looked but could not see anything, so off we went. The emergency vet examined her and saw a grass seed, she tried to remove it with crocodile clips but skye had other ideas and just wouldn't keep still, so vet advised sedating her, which we both agreed as i didn't want them do damage her ear drum and she was traumatised enough. Soon realized that it couldn't be done there and then as skye had eaten less than 3hours ago, so was given some earwash told to call my vet in the morning to see if she can have it done there, if not then i will have to take her back to our emergncey vet.
What a night i have had? i slept on the sofa with skye and haven't really slept with worrying about my baby, skye on the otherhand was snoring her head off! typical!!
we will keep you informed of how skye gets on today.
