I got a phone call from the Dog warden about duke's attacker . Basically they know who it is but say its my word against his even with the vet report . All they can do is to wait for him to trip up again and then they will jump on him ,so it looks like i miss out!! BIG THANKS to all of you for your concern and support over the last while x x Jenny and Duke!!!!!!!

Well folks i've done all i can i've reported the incident to the dog warden and they are taking it seriously . They have addresses of people in the area with rack russells and are going to see if anyone fits my description . They have a list of everyone who owns a dog as we have to have a dog licence to own a dog of any description. Fingers crossed they come up with something. I have to contact them on thurs if i haven't heard from them for an update. Hope i will have news for you soon. x xJenny and duke!!

Manager of the shop phoned me today to say their cctv camera was broken due to the renovations they we're having done but are to be fixed in the next few days. I said that this was not good enough as i needed to find out the id of Duke's attacker. He then said sorry that there was nothing more he could do and anyway sure it was only a dog!!!!!!!! He then put the phone down. I saw red started shouting in the house to myself and swore i'll never be at his shop again in a hurray!! So I have been asking around and asking people if they know of anyone that fits the description and if so to get in touch . Looks like it may be a long haul, but i am determined to find him . Duke seems much better today he is allowing us to stroke his side without whimpering. He was super today when out for a walk and met a couple with a cocker spaniel who stopped me to ask how old Duke was and they thought he was a beauty (their son has a 6yr old red staff) .It did me good to be reassured that not all people treat staffs in such a evil manner. Thanks for all your concern about Duke . Nothing broken thank goodness although his ribs are badly bruised. The vet has written a report of what happened and if i find out thro cctv etc . of the identity of the man he will support me and forward his report to the necessary people, he was really cross about what happened .  i have asked at the shop about cctv etc.and the girl their said she would get the manager to contact me in the next couple of days. will keep you up to date with any news  Again thanks  for your support . x jenny

Just had a terrible experience at the shops. Anytime i go i always get my son to come with me as i dont like leaving Duke outside on his own. Well when we got there a jack russell was tied up outside the shop and started to yap and yap at Duke . I got ross to keep duke out of its way all of a sudden the owner came out and started shouting at ross and me about dangerous dogs and going to report us he then came over and started to kick duke -who was totally oblivious to what was going on and was wondering why this man was kicking him.   i screamed at him to stop and he said what the hell is going on here,  keep that f'n dog away from my dog . i told him we had just arrived and duke had been nowhere near his dog. he then went off still shouting abuse and complaining i was so cross and upset i couldn't go into the shop i just came home. poor duke, he hadn't done anything !! i'm soo angry its so unfair! My poor wee duke has been so quiet since i just hope this doesn't affect the way he accepts people in the future . imagine kicking my duke for nothing !! x Jenny and the subdued duke.

I was out for a walk with Duke this afternoon and let him off the lead in the fields as there was no-one around. Then from nowhere this huge brown lab ran straight over to Duke followed by its owner. I nearly had heartfailure as they sniffed and circled i was getting really nervous but then he ran away a little bit with the dog and they then started to play and chase eachother there was no tension between them at all it was great to watch. The owner was well impressed and said that this was the side of staffs that people dont read about in the press and he for one will be telling his mates how duke and his lab got on. They played for about 10 to 15 minutes and then i decided to stop while the going was good, called duke over and he came straight away for his lead. I was so proud of him i couldn't wait to get home to tell you all.
