Debi when your dogs get too excited, try not to separate them, grab them by the scruff of the neck and stop them playing them growl deeply, look into there eyes and say enough!! hold them for about 1 min then walk away without saying a word or looking at them.
this is how mum trains then, she will scold them and them turn her back and walk away.She will ignore them for a while, and as you know Stafford's hate being ignored so they will submit to you and ask for forgiveness.
They need to learn together that they shouldn't get this excited. If they don't stop after the first grab then separate for 15min tops.
Sometimes when you separate them they dont understand why? so the warning first gives them know you dont like them playing rough.
Hi Debi reference the video -she is so fast its scary! If you look closely when she runs away and comes back she does a 'superman' (front legs straight out and a jump) and doesnt loose her stride! I was covered in mud by the time we left there - she loved it! Tonight i took her out and she went into a neighbours garden and pinched a huge bone (nearly as big as her!) and carried it home (about a mile) i didnt have the heart to take it away from her. Shes out of control i fear! Di x
Glad to hear they are getting on. I remember those teeth well - they are so painful! You can hardly believe that a little puppy can cause so much havoc can you? Lilia latest trick is chewing sods of grass up then digging - oh well nothings sacred when you've got a pup is it! Lilias scabs fallen off but the fur hasnt started to grow back yet. Its about 1 1/3" inch long. Hopefully it will disappear in time. Di xx

Hi Di, nice to hear from you, yep they are def keeping me busy, but they are getting on fine, a few times a day they get a bit over excited so i split them up for chill out time, but mostly they play and sleep nicely together, she is a little devil though, she certainly aint no "princess" she likes nothing better than to dig in the muck and then roll about in it. The only thing none of us are enjoying at the moment are the teeth, heehee. But she hasnt chewed anything as yet apart from us. Thanks for leaving me the message, I have worked out how to fill out my profile so have added more information and have put some photos of Bettie up on the site but don't know where they have been saved! Am looking forward to learning lots from experienced owners as Bettie is my first dog!
